Cryptic Studios has announced that they have reduced the price of the Star Trek Online massively multiplayer online role playing game by $10 and are offering an additional 60 days of free play time.

This is much better than the $49.99 and 30 days of free play time that early purchasers and beta testers had. The new $39.99 and 90 days of free play time has offended many of the current players…………..

The Final Fantasy XI MMORPG has announces the offical merger of servers. The total number will be reduced to twenty four. All character data will be transferred into the new world. Below is a list of the servers that will be merging and their destination.

We wrote recently about some of the problems with Star Trek Online and many of the sub par reviews it was receiving. The MMORPG.com site added it’s voice to the others recently giving the Star Trek Online massively multiplayer role playing game a 6.4 out of 10.

When we last checked in the Metacritic average was 63 out of 100 (6.3). As we predicted the average has increased and now sits at 6.5 or 65 out of 100.

Seven Souls Online is a free-to-play massively multiplayer online role playing game from CR-Space, NHN, and Game & Game. The Seven Souls Online MMORPG is currently in the 2nd closed beta test. It was previously known as Project S and is for the Windows PC. No open beta or release date has yet been announced but it is anticipated in March or April.

There are currently 3 classes with a 4th in development. They include the Warrior (Officer)who can use the heavy sword, axe, or spear; the Ranger (Assassin) who can use dagger, bow, or claws; the Mage (Moon Man) can use a sickle, sword, or wheel.

My question? What ever happened to equal opportunity. Can’t a Castanic Female train hard at Berserker college, graduate at the top of her class, and get a job as a Berserker? No she has to be a Slayer instead. It hardly seems fair.

The Darkfall Online massively multiplayer online role playing game from Aventurine is really hurting. They have been pulling out all the stops trying to get more players paying their subscription fees.

Here is a list of some of the latest attempts:

1. New 7 Day Trial for $1. I am not sure why they thought they could not do a free trial but are instead offering a seven day trial for one dollar. There is also a referral fee commission paid to publishers in the hope of bringing in new players. You can sign up for the trial and download the game here

2. In an effort to try and protect new players from shameless gank attacks, a new patch ads a feature called New Player Protection. This feature offers protection against player attacks for the first few hours so they have a chance to learn how to control their character. During this time you can cause no damage except to monsters and no one can damage you. This protection is active in the starting areas only. Unfortunately it also prevents you from using mounts, runestones, teleporting, portals, creating a clan, joining a clan, etc.

The record number was surprisingly low at 99 people. What Star Trek Conventions do not count? The location was London’s Millennium Bridge.
