It has been awhile since we have written about the Star Trek Online massively multiplayer online role playing game. Recently Cryptic Studios released the STO Season 2: Ancient Enemies expansion.

We have written frequently about the repeated failures of Darkfall Online. In this latest case Aventurine has delayed the Player vs Environment expansion that was over-hyped and sold as the solution to all problems.

The outspoken lead developer Tasos Flambouras posted recently that six months of work have only resulted in more instability for the client and the expansion will be delayed indefinitely despite the optimistic quote: “Realistically, we’re looking at a few more weeks of work and testing on this. In the meanwhile we’ll also use this time to add more features to the expansion and if possible further expand the dungeon update…..We’ll give you a new ETA as soon as we have a handle on what exactly is wrong and what needs to be done”.

It has been almost two months since the online multiplayer game Heroes of Newerth went into retail. As promised by the developers, they continue to improve the game and to frequently deliver balance changes, new features, new content and more.
The next big patch is scheduled for Friday this week. By the words of S2Nome patch 1.0.5 will feature “a TON of gameplay content” and will be “the biggest since release” in terms of additional/ reworked content.

Undoubtedly one of the most thrilling additions is going to be the Gladiator – a new hero based on the famous Kunkka from DotA. As it is considered to be a direct port, the Gladiator is expected to have the exact same skillset as his DotA counterpart. With the inclusion of this hero S2 Games continues their intention of satisfying both the casual and the competitive scenes in Heroes of Newerth. Will the Gladiator become as famous as Kunkka? Everybody is excited, but only time will tell.

On top of that, S2 Games announced really good news for those who do not own a paid account – everyone will be able to log in with their beta account and enjoy some more HoN goodness over the weekend for free, so make sure you have your gaming gear prepared for all the exciting new changes.

We wrote back in February that Darkfall Online is trying everything to stay alive. This included a too little-too late attempt with a 7 Day Trial for $1. I immediately stated that this offer sucked and it should be free and long.

Fast forward 3 months later and Darkfall Online is doing just that with a free 14 day trial. However, again Darkfall falls short by warning that they will throttle availability and place quotas on accounts from certain countries.

We have written frequently about Eve Online: Tyrannis. CCP Games announced today that the expansion will be delayed for one week until May 26, 2010 and the seeding of Planetary Command Centers will also be delayed until June 8, 2010.

The reason for the delay includes scalability issues, code errors, etc.

The release will also include EVE Gate with EVE Mail, Calendar, and improved contacts.

Star Trek Online is slowly getting additional content. Fans will be excited to play the newest Special Task Force mission “Undine Terradome”. This mission is available to players with the rank of Admiral. The Undine are preparing for a Federation invasion and you must try to prevent it.
