New BioShock Infinite HD Gameplay Video

Below is a new BioShock Infinite high definition gameplay video. BioShock Infinite is a first person shooter and the third game in the series from Irrational Games and 2K Games. It will be available for the PC, Xbox 360, and PS3. The game is on schedule for a 2012 release date.

I have got to say that this is one of the strangest videos that I have ever seen.

Check out the below Info Graphic on the slow death of PC Gaming. It is no secret that console gaming has been growing big time. And the simple fact is that pc gaming is loosing out to mobile gaming and all-in-one media centers that will eventually combine the internet, your tv, your game station, and your media into one massive entertainment solution this is definitely not PC Gaming.

Piracy is also a huge issue. Multiple attempts at thwarting PC Game Piracy have failed.

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed 2 Betrayal HD Debut Trailer Video

We have written before about Star Wars: The Force Unleashed. Honestly, the game had an amazing opening level where you played as Darth Vader and simply annihilated Wookies. But after that the gameplay quickly became repetitive (and playing as a Sith Assassin Starkiller could never be as fun) and I lost interest.

The sequel is scheduled to release on October 26, 2010 for both Playstation 3, Xbox 360, Wii, PC, and Nintendo DS. In the below video we see an interesting turn of events as Darth Vader betrays his assassin Starkiller and orders him killed. He is no longer useful as Darth Vader now has an army of Sith Clones.

MARVEL vs. CAPCOM 3: Fate of Two Worlds is a new game in development. It will release in Spring 2011 on the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. The game is produced and directed by Ryota Niitsuma. Video Game Industry Rebounds in March – Sales Up 6%

We wrote earlier that the Video Game Industry has recovered from the Recession and the MMORPG Industry was putting up some huge numbers. The NPD Group today released numbers that the Video Game Industry as a whole has seen a 6% increase in March from the same time last year. This contrasts a 14 percent decrease in February.

In March sales equaled $1.52 billion up 6% from $1.44 billion. Nintendo Wii sold 557,500 consoles and 700,000 DS handheld units in March compared to 338,400 and 313,900 for the Microsoft Xbox 360 and Sony PlayStation 3.......................................

Funny God of War 3 Video Review

We have written many times about God of War 3. Below is a really funny video review from Zero Punctuation of the popular game. The climactic battle in the beginning of the game is great but everything after that point is quite literally down hill. After Kratos falls of Mount Olympus, dies, loses his powers, and goes to Hades.

The combat is very similar and the storyline seems overly re-hashed. The boss fights are however impressive and use the power of the PS3 well. Puzzles are also very well designed. Overall the review is positive but funny.

Funny Final Fantasy XIII Video Review

Below is a very funny video review of Final Fantasy XIII. The video review was done by Zero Punctuation. I agree with him that it can be difficult to play through the entire game. I cannot express how much I also hate overly long menu driven turn based combat as well. The interface is certainly a problem as is the slow introduction of plot and characters all designed to force excruciatingly long gameplay just to get some closure. Proponents of the game claim that the game gets really good about 20 hours in but that just seems like a terrible trick.

Funny Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Video Review

We have written recently about the success of Battlefield: Bad Company 2 raking in $2.3 million in sales. Below is a funny review of this game from Zero Punctuation.

LOL. He mentions the general visibility problems with the gameplay (dust, haze, smoke). Also funny is the continuous pounding into the dirt suffered because of the difficulty in many of the levels. Much of the game is similar to every other realistic shooter with the compulsary firing rockets at helicopters etc.

Onlive HD Video Demos (Including On iPhone) Launching June 17 At $14.95 Per Month

We have written before about the OnLive Game Streaming or Games on Demand Service before. Recently out of beta testing the service is scheduling a release date for June 17, 2010. The Online Gaming Service will be available for both PC and Mac (tv coming soon with additional micro-console and onlive iphone demo in video below) and start at $14.95 a month. It will be available in the United States and game purchase or rentals will have an additional fee. A demo is scheduled for E3 2010. After the launch support for 60 frames a second and 1080p will come online with bandwidth upgrades. For the first 25,000 people who register the first 3 months will be free. You can signup here

In order to qualify you have to be 18, in the 48 contiguous US states, have a valid VISA or Mastercard, and pass a performance test among other conditions.

I am a huge fan of Clash of the Titans. I loved the original movie and will definitely be seeing the new movie when it comes out. Even more excitingly is the fact that a Clash of the Titans video game is being developed. Game Republic and Namco Bandai along with Warner Brothers Interactive is working on the game. It should be released shortly after the movie (target date of March 26, 2010). Players will play as Perseus and follow a similar story line. The game will be available for the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360.

We have written before about God of War 3. This is the latest sequel in this single player franchise from Santa Monica Studio and Sony Computer Entertainment. God of War 3 is scheduled for an official release date of March 16, 2010 in North America with Europe and Japan following days after. This game was awared the 2010 Most Anticipated Game at the Spike Video Game Awards.

Below is a really funny video review of Mass Effect 2 from Zero Punctuation at the escapist. It is funny to see the take on the regurgitation of the first game and plot flaws as well as boring parts of the missions. There is no vehicle section and the combat can quickly become repetative. There are definately some sexual undercurrents in the game which is of course why many gamers like it.

Mass Effect 2 is an action RPG from Bioware and Electronic Arts. It features the Unreal Engine 3.5 and is available for Windows PC and Xbox 360. The review video is about 4 minutes long. Check it out below as well as a new high definition gameplay video.............

Dante’s Inferno Game – A God of War Clone with Disturbing Gameplay

Dante's Inferno is a new single player third-persion action game from Visceral Games and Electronic Arts. The game was released in Australia and Europe earlier in the month but finally released in North America on February 9, 2010. The Dante's Inferno Game will be available for PS3, Xbox, and PSP (possibly later for PC).

Dante's Inferno is rated M for mature and rightly so. The many layers of hell based on this classic tale are very disturbing and brutal. The game received a 75 out of 100 from Metacritic despite borrowing heavily form God of War and other similar games.

I must admit I was surprised to see a commercial for this game during the Super Bowl.

When people first hear about the new PS3 specific game MAG they tend to assume that the 256-player online matches mean that you’ll be seeing hordes of soldiers swarming on top of one another and filling the air with the sounds of gun fire and bullets. However, the reality is that the battles play out on a much smaller scale yet MAG still boasts some of the busiest battlefields the genre has ever seen.

The game has many objectives as you orientate the maps and defeating the enemy squads laid out in front of you demands individual skill as well as team coordination. There are, however; some rough edges to contend with in the game, including some technical problems along with an unfortunate sense of repetition.
