Limited Copies of SWTOR at Launch

We have written frequently about SWTOR and many of the problems associated with the game such as the poor SWTOR graphics and terrible space gameplay.

But EA, LucasArts and BioWare has made what could be a fatal mistake. There will be a cutoff of initial sales. This is primarily because of server limitations but turning away paying customers is always a bad idea.

In addition the game will be limited geographically and throttled depending on your location. Even if you have pre-ordered there is no guarantee that you will be allowed in initially.

The fact that EA is promoting this information is a money grab or perhaps they realize the game is set to.........................

Free APB Reloaded HD Video from Closed Beta

We have written frequently about the troubled All Points Bulletin massively multiplayer online role playing game. The new free to play APB Reloaded is currently in closed beta. Reat Time Worlds is retooling and began the closed beta on March 2, 2011. No open beta date has been set yet.

Runes of Magic Lands of Despair Chapter 4 HD Trailer Video

Runes of Magic Lands of Despair is the latest update to the free Runes of Magic massively multiplayer online role playing game. This is the fourth chapter of the popular Free MMORPG.

this update will include a triple-class system and an update to 70 for the level cap. There will be new levels and a ton of new content including the Land of Malevolence. Zombies and other gnasty things crawl the town of Kampel.

There are also some creepy clowns in the Moonlight Circus along with other performers. The city of Glimville, castle Grafu, and other new places await.

New monsters including a pet lion and scary clowns will be up for a fight along with wizards. The first section of content will be available in closed beta in April with a release scheduled for summer. Frogster has also been working on a browser and Facebook version.

DragonSoul Free MMORPG – Closed & Open Beta & Gameplay Video

DragonSoul is a new free to play massively multiplayer online role playing fantasy game from Neonga AG. The DragonSoul MMORPG features 8 kingdoms and a political system that determines the ruler through votes. The game includes a crafting and upgrade system, pets, and development of resources.

The Open Beta is scheduled to start in the 2nd quarter of 2011 and you can register for the Closed Beta.

Warriors: Legends of Troy HD Gameplay & Trailer Videos – Launching March 11th

Warriors: Legends of Troy is a single player, multiplayer, and co-op adventure game fro Keoe releasing on the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 on March 11, 2011. The game was originally launched in Japan as Troy Musou.

Warriors: Legends of Troy is somewhat similar to Dynasty Warriors but of course follows the Greek and Trojan ware featuring the likes of Achilles, Patroclus, Odysseus, Hector, Penthesilea, Paris, Aeneas, and Ajax.

Funny Video Review: Assassins Creed Brotherhood

Below is a really funny video review of the Assassins Creed Brotherhood massively multiplayer online role playing game. The video is about 5 minutes long and points out that although the Assassins Creed Brotherhood MMORPG has several good points to it, it is really Assassins Creed II repackaged. The reviewer affectionately refers to the game as "Ass Creed".

Although the game is funny it quickly gets boring and becomes completely up to chance as to who can randomly spawn closer and more about having others do your killing and earning money than the actual fun parts of the game. The game is in desperate need of a good single player campaign. Check out the video below.......................................

SWTOR to be the Greatest Failure in History of MMOs – says EA Employee & Lackluster Closed Beta Feedback

I have been saying it since the begining. The Star Wars the Old Republic massively multiplayer online role playing game from Bioware is in big trouble. First it was the Sucky Graphics in SWTOR, then the fact that Space Combat in SWTOR Looks Like Shit.

Now I am getting some serious backup to my breaking claims. Initial limited closed beta feedback is not good. The players are not happy and are very dissapointed. Now a claim from an EA employee saying that the game will be a huge failure:

"They’ve spent more money making the Old Republic than................................

Assassins Creed Brotherhood HD Video Trailer – Beta Starts October 4th

Assassins Creed: Brotherhood is a massively multiplayer online role playing game from Ubisoft. It will be available for Windows PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360. The game is set in an open world in Rome and is a sandbox game. There is also 15 hours of single player campaign.

The massively multiplayer online role playing game Assassins Creed Brotherhood beta starts on October 4, 2010. The Assassins Creed Brotherhood MMORPG is set to launch on November 16, 2010.

New BioShock Infinite HD Gameplay Video

Below is a new BioShock Infinite high definition gameplay video. BioShock Infinite is a first person shooter and the third game in the series from Irrational Games and 2K Games. It will be available for the PC, Xbox 360, and PS3. The game is on schedule for a 2012 release date.

I have got to say that this is one of the strangest videos that I have ever seen.

Vindictus Beta Encounters Some Issues & HD Gameplay Video

We have written frequently about the free to play Vindictus massively multiplayer online role playing game. The beta has been live now for about a week and the Vindictus MMORPG has already encountered some serious issues. Updates came through on September 17, 2010 and September 19, 2010 with a large amount of server maintenance both scheduled and unscheduled. Large patches of time were required including over 7 hours.

Halo Reach Sells $200 Million in 24 Hours – HD Review Video & Trailer

We have written frequently about Halo Reach. This massively multiplayer online role playing game has sold over $200 Million Dollars in 24 hours. This has made it the best selling game in the history of Microsoft. Microsoft Game Studios Corporate Vice President Phil Spencer called it "the biggest game Microsoft has ever released". This passed a previous $170 million that Halo 3 sold within the first 24 hours.

$45,000 Embezzled in Latest Eve Online Scam & HD Video

We have written many times about EVE Online Embezzlement Scams. In the latest installment a player embezzled $45,000 worth of ISK through an investment scam. Bad Bobby stole company assets from the Titans4U investment fund.

Bobby was well trusted and secretly built up shares in a corporation eventually obtaining over 50% allowing him to eject all the other directors from the corporation and steal all of the company's assets which is over 850 billion ISK.

Bad Bobby said in a forum post:

"How will my workmates and customers feel about the fact that I've hurt other players in a competitive PvP focused computer game in which I play a pirate? At the moment they are trying their best to stop rolling around with laughter. Maybe in time they will decide that I am evil and must be hunted down and made an example of... I doubt it somehow."

Dragonica Online Players Still Shut Out – Bankrupt THQ*ICE

We have written many times about THQ*ICE and the Dragonica Online massively multiplayer online role playing game.

Some bad news as publisher THQ*ICE is now bankrupt and has closed it's doors. Another publisher WarpPortal was trying to quickly take over the game but things are taking longer than expected.

Game developer Barunson Interactive is attempting to assist in the transition to a new publisher. Registrations, forums, and payments have been frozen until further notice.

I am sorry. I am a huge Star Wars fan but if you read my post about how terrible the graphics in SWTOR are then it doesn't take a genius to see that the Space Combat graphics are even worse. In fact; Space Combat in Star Wars the Old Republic looks like Shit.

Warhammer 40K: Dark Millennium Online HD Trailer Video

Below is a new high definition trailer for Warhammer 40K: Dark Millennium Online. The trailer was unvailed at GamesCon 2010 by Virgil Games.

The first playable race is The Imperium of Man. There will be several other playable races and two factions. Three revealed character classes were Space Marines, Adeptus Mechanicus Tech Priests, and the Imperial Guard.

We have written before about Free Racing MMORPGs including Ray City and CTRacer Online.

Now there is another free to play Racing massively multiplayer online role playing game in MMO Heat Online. MMO HEAT Online is a F2P Racing game from Innologin Ltd currently in open beta. The open beta just started in fact on August 17, 2010. The game is the North American version of Level-R.

Realtime World Lays Off 60 Employees – APB Up For Sale

We sensed this was coming. The All Points Bulletin massively multiplayer first person shooter game from Realtime Worlds fell victim to declining interest, lackluster reviews (58 out of 100 and 6.1 out of 10 user score at Metacritic), and poor business decisions.

Realtime Worlds has just undergone massive layoffs including the entire MyWorld Team (social gaming set to launch in 2011), and reducing the APB team to admin and skeleton crew size. As many as 60 employees have been cut so far.

Stellar Dawn MMORPG HD Teaser Trailer

Below is a new trailer for the Jagex Games Studio new massively multiplayer online role playing game Stellar Dawn. The Stellar Dawn MMORPG is a sci-fi game in the browser set to launch in 2011 with the beta set to start in 2010. The game will be built in Java Unfortunately so you can pretty much expect the graphics to suck.

The game will be free to play and is the re-invention of the cancelled Mechscape game Jagex has been developing.

Disney To Buy Playdom

We have written frequently about social game developer Playdom.

Very shortly we expect an announcement that Disney will acquire Playdom. Disney is already a large investor in Playdom ($33 million out of total $76 million raised) and multiple sources have reported that the deal is in the final stages.

The estimated value of Playdom is about $340 million. Disney also recently acquired iPhone and Android mobile game developer Tapulous for about $35 million.

It looks like Disney is making big moves into the social and mobile gaming arena..........................

Darkfall Delays PvE Expansion – No One Surprised

We have written frequently about the repeated failures of Darkfall Online. In this latest case Aventurine has delayed the Player vs Environment expansion that was over-hyped and sold as the solution to all problems.

The outspoken lead developer Tasos Flambouras posted recently that six months of work have only resulted in more instability for the client and the expansion will be delayed indefinitely despite the optimistic quote: "Realistically, we're looking at a few more weeks of work and testing on this. In the meanwhile we'll also use this time to add more features to the expansion and if possible further expand the dungeon update.....We'll give you a new ETA as soon as we have a handle on what exactly is wrong and what needs to be done".

SOE Delays Some Layoffs – Moving Forward with as Many as 35

Sony Online Entertainment is no stranger to layoffs. A bit of good news however that SOE has delayed laying off some of the additional 35 employees. Other prominent developers have already been let go and EverQuest II, Vanguard, and The Agency seem to be the hardest hit.

There is no official word yet on the layoffs or the delays. So really it is mainly bad news.........................
