In addition to the recent 41 layoffs at Sony Online Entertainment, SOE has also lost their Executive Producer Matt Wilson, Art Director Corey Dangel, nd Producer John Smith. All three left the Seattle studio producing the MMO The Agency. The three have started their own studio called Detonator Games. Not only is this a major blow to the production of The Agency massively multiplayer online role playing game but also to Sony Online Entertainment.

SOE has declined comment on their departure and the departing employees are mum as to the reasons as well.

At some point Sony Online Entertainment may have to re-evaluate many of the current MMORPGs in development. Is this a symptom of a poor economy or something more? Only time will tell.
