We have written before about mass banning for bot use in the Aion Online massively multiplayer online role playing game. On the Chinese side things are even worse and bot use is rampant. Recently over thirty thousand Chinese Aion Online players met in the beggining village to protest the lack of enforcement against bot users. New characters were created with names like “no bots” and “play fair”.
Despite the arrival of Aion Online Game Managers (in the form of boss Grand Chieftain Saendukals) to disperse players; several servers crashed under the heavy load. Chinese publisher Shanda Interactive Entertainment promised to step up the fight against bots.
