In a recent post we wrote that Age of Conan is Dying with dropping subscription numbers, a 4th quarter loss, and the resignation of Funcom’s CFO.
AoC Game Director Craig Morrison responds with an open letter on the Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures community forum. As expected Funcom will finally be developing a free trial for AoC like every other MMORPG already has out there. A new patch should also hit the servers this week.
View the full letter here. The free trial is a big “DUH” and the improved graphics are nice, but will it be enough?

I honestly think with the new Game Director the game will be worth a resub. Patch 1.05 comes out in a week or two they say and that will “Fix” the Overpowered classes and give Gear more meaning.

I’m actually downloading the trial as i read this, I’ve always wanted to play the game but didn’t want to dish out the initial 50$ just in case I didn’t enjoy it.

Age of conan was dead since it was released. Patches were delayed for weeks and weeks, it was terrible to see how funcom was abandoning its just-released game. And now the y are seeing how gamers leave their and want to fix all the mistakes made.
AoC is the example of what things you don’t have to do with a mmo.
