The debate has been raging on for years regarding video games and violence and their effect on us. I think most people would agree that different people are effected differently by video games and violence in them. There are certainly different levels and some games go to far.
Many feel that the new quest in World of War Craft Wrath of the Lich King has done just that and gone too far. The quest is called “The Art of Persuasion”. And just like it sounds it involves torturing a prisoner for information in order to complete a quest. Apparently in Lich King you are not given an option to not torture the prisoner which probably would have avoided this whole issue. For a nation so concerned with change and water boarding on everyone’s mind this was definately a misstep on Blizzard’s part. In “The Art of Persuason” you must use an electric cattle prod called the Neural Needler to get a Beryl Sorcerer prisoner to talk.
