We wrote recently that despite have 3 million players Free Realms isn’t doing spectacular given that Sony Online Entertainment had to lay off 41 full time employees. Well Sony Online Entertainment president John Smedley wanted to gloss over that bad news by announcing today that the Free Realms free to play massively multiplayer online role playing game has almost reached 5 million users. This was announced during a panel at the San Diego Comic-Con International 2009. This is a tremendous accomplishment for the Free Realms MMORPG to gain 5 million players in just 3 months.
That is why the game is #2 on our list of the Top 10 Free MMORPGs
