Maybe Free Realms Isn’t Doing That Spectacular – SOE Lays Off 41 Full-Time Employees

Maybe Free Realms isn’t making as much money as we thought with those 3 million players. Or maybe Sony decided to cut the fat from other areas than those suffering the most. Whatever the reason, Sony Online Entertainment announced today that they have laid off 41 full-time employees which equals about 5% of their workforce.

You can add it up to the bad economy and the Video Game industry taking a hit but whatever the reason it does not paint a pretty picture of things at SOE. How much is really riding on the upcoming DC Universe Online?
