MMO Bots are the spam of vitual worlds. They are used for various activities including gold farming, attacking server resources and virtual lands, clogging and griefing efforts, protest rallys, and much more. The problems is growing so much that Blizzard Entertainment recently sued the creator of some automated bot software.

MDY Industries lost a 6 million dollar lawsuite to Blizzard Entertainment for making World of Warcraft software that played WoW automatically. This virtual bot performed activities such as looting, skinning, healing, farming, and more up to ninety nine percent of game play.

Glider is also heavily used to level up your character. Glider is written in C#, with the Microsoft .NET Framework. It looks like glider is still downloadable on many sites.

Blizzard Vs Glider has been going on since the year 2006. Glider is in clear violation of the WoW terms of service (which is a little overbearing don’t you think?). The MDY World of Warcraft MMORPG bot software cost about twenty five dollars. It is estimated that over one hundred thousand copies of Glider was sold.

Blizzards is planning on going after other bot software makers.
