Secret Builders is a virtual world focused on education of children. The California based company opened the service in December 2008 (founded in 2007) and has grown to 400,000 unique visitors a month. Secret Builders announced today that it has raised $2.3 million dollars in funding. (totoal of $4 million raised)
Secret Builders recently added on a white-label license for brands to provide their own virtual word for kids. More than 800 schools across 190 countries are currently participating.
The Secret Builders is a free-to-play massively multiplayer online role playing game that allows for micro transactions and the purchase of virtual items. The game is targeted for the 8-12 age group with some kids as young as 5 participating. The game is flash and browser based and includes minigames and 2-D characters.
