We wrote earlier that the Shadowbane MMORPG was scheduled to shut down on May 1, 2009. Well that date has come and gone and Shadowbane is still around.
Ubisoft has received such a public outcry from players and fans of Shadowbane that they have extended the shutdown of the game until July 1, 2009. Ubisoft has also been in talk with Aeria Games to take over and continue running the free to play MMORPG.
The Shadowbane community could not be happier about this development. This community is looking forward with hope to the times ahead for this classic massively multiplayer online role playing game that has been around since the year 2003.

I played shadowbane in beta and off and on throughout the years… roleplayed irekei with the best of them and have kept tabs on the game. Even though I havent played it regularly, (been over a year I believe) when I heard it was being shut down I felt hurt… that game was the best pvp game I have ever played, in its good years after launch when population was high I must say it was some of the funnest gaming I have ever had. I am very glad to hear it wont be shut down, even if I dont play it everday I do dl the game and pop my head up now and then. Kudos

@Vvemoth
Thank you for your comment. I think many players share your sentiment on Shadowbane and we are all glad that it is sticking around.

I cannot imagine playing a game that will ever be as fun as this one.. Player vs Player, Guild vs Guild – in a player-controlled world.. What better place to learn leadership?
