We have written frequently about the Star Trek Online massively multiplayer online role playing game.
The Star Trek Online MMORPG from Cryptic Studios and Atari launched on February 2, 2010. Gamers gathered around select Gamestops at 12:00 am in order to purchase the game as soon as it went on sale. Initial unconfirmed reports indicate 1 million accounts have been created at official web sites. Star Trek Online will soon be increasing the in-game server capacity as a result.
To further celebrate the launch Atari and Namco Bandai are attempting to organize a Guinness Book Record by organizing the largest gathering of fans in Star Trek Characters costumes at the London Millenium Bridge on February 14, 2010 at 1:00 pm. Best dressed characters will receive lifetime subscriptions.
