EA Games recently announced a huge loss in the first quarter of $234 million. Last quarter had only a $95 million loss. EA tried to emphasize the success of the Sims 3 but as we discussed recently The Sims 3 is in danger of loosing it’s identity. Although 3.7 million copies have sold, EA desperately needs the Sims 3 Expansion Pack needs to be a success.
EA net revenue is down 20 percent despite impressive sales of the Sims3 since June 2, 2009. Even success of other titles such as Fight Night 4 have not helped. After all the video games industry is not recession proof after all.
