We have written before that Age of Conan has been trying to save their Dying MMORPG with a Second Coming. Part of this effort is the AOC: Rise of the Godslayer expansion. It has a definite Eastern Chinese feel to it which is a definite departure from the typical Conan Barbarian roots. It definitely feels like Age of Conan is abandoning it’s roots by adding ninjas and samurai to the game and going Japanese. Somewhere the original Conan the Barbarian Arnold Schwarzenegger is grinding his teeth.
The Age of Conan: Rise of the Godslayer expansion made some interesting choices. It does not increase the level cap but does add more content to the lower levels between 20 and 80. There will be a new race known as the Khitan. New mounts of a tiger and wolf will also be included.
The expansion also includes new monsters, new dungeons, and more. Higher level Khitan’s can enter the Empire of Khitai.
