Age of Conan has reached it’s one year anniversary. There have been quite a few struggles for Funcom attempting to save the sinking ship that is the Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures massively multiplayer online role playing game. Many issues resulted in canceled subscriptions and a downward spiral for Funcom. It is no secret that the Age of Conan MMORPG is dying.
They are trying desperately to save the struggling AoC MMORPG by continuing to offer free trials and even two free weeks of gameplay to previous AoC subscribers calling it the re-evaluation campaign. This began on July 8, 2009.
Age of Conan has also announced a new expansion for Age of Conan to be unveiled at the GamesCom in Germany running from August 19, 2009 to August 22, 2009 of this year. This comes just after the Patch 1.05 Tarantia Commons released on June 24, 2009. Check out the full patch notes here.
Funcom is also running a Video Contest with XFire. The contest runs from July 10 2009 to July 24, 2009 and wants to see the best Player vs Player fights or near death experiences. Some great prizes will go to the winners.
We were so Arogant, So Headstrong….
Game Director Craig Morrison seems committed enough to turn the game around with this flurry of activity. But can he do it? In the below high definition re-evaluation gameplay video we see Funcom almost parady their problems with dialoge: “We were so Arogant, So Headstrong”. Have they learned their lesson? Check out the video below.
