The City of Heroes MMORPG and Cryptic Studios are offering some Holiday Events. Players receive 48 hours of 1/4 debt protection (can I get this power in the real world? It would sure help with the Christmas bills.), frostbitten badge, and Holiday Cheer power which gives a random gift such as a theme hat.

City of Heroes Issue 13 Gameplay Video with New Powers:

About City of Heroes
City of Heroes was published by NCsoft in April 2004 and quickly followed with City of Villains. 13 updates known of issues have been released with the lates coming in December of 2008. Issue 14 Architect should be coming out soon. Issue 14 allows for creation of story lines and missions which is very cool. A monthly fee is needed to play and ranges from $11.95 a month for annual subscription to $14.99 a month for 1 month.

Problem with City of Heroes
One of the greatest problems with the game is that you are not allowed to infringe on any licensed superheroes. This is stupid because there are so many that almost any you create potentially infringes. Marvel Comics filed a lawsuit in 2004 with claims settled in 2005. Marvel Comics had Cryptic Stuidos create Marvel Universe Online in 2006 which was eventually cancelled by Microsoft.
