The APB MMORPG is a massively multiplayer online role playing game from Crackdown and Realtime Worlds. It looks really impressive and many are calling it the Grand Theft Auto MMOG.

The APB MMO is very cops and robbers (or LA riots) type of gameplay. The game takes place in a virtual city San Paro. Constant gun battles on the ground and in vehicles play out as law enforcement and criminals fight for control.

APB will release on the PC and on Xbox 360 and possibly the PS3. David Jones creator of GTA is the lead game designer. The MMORPG features the Unreal Engine 3. APB was originally scheduled to release in 2008 but the release date has been pushed back to 2009 for the PC launch. The Xbox 360 and PS3 versions will release much later.

The high presence of gang warfare reminds me of the CrimeCraft MMORPG.
