We have written frequently about EVE Online including the ever growing popularity of the game with EVE Online passing 300,000 subscribers after 6 years.

Well now CCP Games has announced a new EVE Online console MMORPG code named DUST 514 which will be kind of like a First Person Shooter version of the game. Major additions include battle on the surface of the planets with ground infantry.

DUST 514 a Starship Troopers MMORPG?

Is the DUST 514 the step to making EVE a Starship Troopers massively multiplayer online role playing game? As CCP Games CEO Hilmar Petursson said “The fleet does the flying, the infantry does the dying.” The attempt will be to merge the EVE and DUST 514 communities through contracted strategic moves to control system sovereignty.
