On the brink of having their license pulled in August, Stargate Worlds has announced that they have amazingly received new funding. But will this be enough to move Stargate Worlds from the biggest MMORPG failure in history? Cheyenne Mountain Entertainment will try and use the money to pay off vendors and employees that have been owed money for months. Shane Hensley said “We received some funding commitments that will provide financing over time and allow us to move forward with development and start catching up on our past due financial obligations, including some back payroll that we paid last week.”

But is this just a case of feeding the money pit and sending good money after bad? No launch date has yet been announced nor has the Stargate Worlds web site news section been updated since May of 2009 nor the Cheyenne Mountain Entertainment news web site since April of 2008.

Maybe I am just being cautious but if I were you I would play the unofficial free Stargate MMORPG game and not put too much hope in Stargate Worlds until the launch actually happens.
