JumpStart is a MMORPG virtual world that teaches kids as they play. JumpStart is in Beta and is currently free to play in trial. A $7.99 monthly subscription per family (not per kid) will be required for full access.
Kids can customize their avatar, play games, watch movies, adopt a pet, read stories, and more. The pet adoption and training of a virtual pet seems like a really cool feature.
The JumpStart MMO for kids is browser based and works on Mac and Windows PC. Parents can receive email updates on what their kids are doing. The game is aimed at different ages with different segments.
JumpStart Segments For Different Ages:
1. Story Land Ages 3 to 5
2. Adventure Land Ages 6 to 8
3. Future Land Ages 8 to 10
The game should launch by April 2009.
