Google has made a big move by releasing adsense support for games. The game industry is celebrating and popular game designers are very happy that Google is now offering Adsense for Games. The program is currently in beta. This is most li8kely the long result of the 2007 purchase of AdScape Media for twenty three million dollars.

Initially flash based games and larger titles will include different types of ads. PlayFish, Mochi Media, Konami, Demand Media, and others are included in the beta. Expect to see Adsense ads in Frogger and other popular games very soon. Will we see Google Adsense in Google Lively? I think it is just a matter of time.

Is this a new revenue model for free to play MMOs? I think so. So many MMOs out there are struggling with a subscription or in game economy business model. Now there is a third and proven route in advertising. Or all three.
